Sorry if I haven't posted here for a while, but I was too busy being enthralled by how West Brom made Arsenal look like the fools they are at defending. As early as the 3rd minute they scored from an Olsson header who Arsenal so foolishly left unmarked (Almunia should've done better too, but that mistake is really just the tip of the dungheap) and West Brom lead Arsenal 1-0. Scott Carson, the real man, proved he at least earned the right to wear #1 after a fantastic save off a rebound shot from Aaron Ramsey after van Persie hit the bar with a header. Half time: Baggies 1, Gunners 0...
Well I sit there thinking that West Brom will do an Italy and sit back and defend their 1-0 lead. Instead, they press upfield even better. Off a Marek Cech cross, Chris Brunt really should have made it 2-0 for the Baggies, but his shot drifted just wise. A costly mistake, as it turned out.
But a few minutes later I was laughing my head off when Odemwingie, who had been a pain in the ass all afternoon for Arsenal, scored a truly funny goal. Seriously, this stuff should be on YouTube under "Result of Goalie and Defender Having Too Much to Drink Before a Match.". Mulumbu launched a really hopeful ball forward, and Squillaci moves to intercept. But then for some reason Almunia comes out to grab the ball. Thinking Almunia has it, Squillaci slows down. Thinking Squillaci has it, Almunia slows down. The result? Odemwingie gets between them, steals the ball and prods it into an empty net. o.o
Well naturally Arsenal come back from this. Arshavin scores an admittedly good goal with a snap shot, but Arsenal's 2nd goal shouldn't have counted. A cross goes too far of van Persie, and Arshavin hits it with his hand back into the box to van Persie, who tucks the ball into the net when Meite miscontrolled. West Brom did hold on for a very deserved draw, but honestly, they should have won against a team that defends like children with a goalkeeper who used to play for the Osasuna B team.
Well at least Man Utd won against Bolton, due to an extremely lucky goal by the Ball Wizard from the Bulgars, Dimitar Berbatov, who tapped in the rebound after Bolton goalie Jussi Jaaskelainen spilled a rather easy shot from Nani. Blackburn came back from 2-0 down to Blackpool to draw 2-2. Stoke destroyed Newcastle 4-0. Wolves continued their revival with a win against Villa 1-0. Tottenham and West Ham played a 0-0 draw, and both Wigan and Everton beat Birmingham and Fulham respectively 2-1.
