I know this is long overdue but
Jack Layton, rest in peace.
He was a great man; one of the few politicians I actually liked. He was honest, which is more than you can say about most politicians, and he was a good speaker. He had a way with the people, and I think a lot of why the NDP did so well last election was because of him. I heard on the news that Quebec voters didn't vote for the NDP, they voted for Jack. This tells a lot about the man. He had a way with the common people and with his fellow politicians. He was respected in Ottawa, despite leading the smallest party represented in Parliament for much of his time as leader. And he led the NDP to a historic triumph as the Official Opposition, putting the Liberals down into 3rd place.
Canada will be all the poorer without him.
